Crafted in the heart of Los Altos de Jalisco, the Clase Azul Día de Muertos 2021 Edition pays homage to Mexico’s most meaningful celebration—El Día de Muertos. This first release in a five-part series captures the soul of the holiday through its dedication to food, family, and memory, reflected in every detail from its origin to its presentation. The tequila is a true Single Estate expression, distilled from agaves grown solely on El Cerro del Viboreo, a mountain revered for its pristine agave.
This añejo tequila is masterfully aged for over 14 months in a blend of casks—some previously holding American whiskey, and others being lightly and medium-charred virgin American oak. The result is a rich and layered spirit that draws inspiration from the flavors traditionally offered to departed loved ones. The nose opens with sweet tones of candied orange peel, agave syrup, and toasted almond. The palate follows with warm and complex layers of citrus, clove, roasted coffee, and a soft floral lift of orange blossom, leading to a lingering finish of orange zest.
Perfectly suited for a slow sip in reflective celebration, this limited edition is presented in a commemorative box alongside two elegant tequila snifter glasses. With an ABV of 40%, it’s best enjoyed neat to fully appreciate the nuanced craftsmanship and cultural reverence behind every drop. A collector’s masterpiece and a soulful tribute in one.
